Termite treat before the slab is poured. This can save thousands of dollars rather than repairing after the damage is done.
Install 6 mil polyethylene before slab is poured to retard moisture from coming up under carpet and wood floors and to keep soil from extracting moisture from the concrete slab.
Wolmanized pressure treated wood used on all wall bottom plates next to the concrete slab. This treated wood resists rot, termites, and carpenter ants.
Use vinyl-coated nails for framing.
Tin plates nailed over upper corners of all doorways and windows to strengthen and resist sheetrock cracks as wood dries and the house settles.
Glue and nail all steps and second story flooring using top-rated glue.
Tongue and groove 1-1/8" floor decking used on second story floors.
Entire outside sheathed in oriented strand board for maximum structural integrity. House wrap used to form water barrier, but, with vapor permeability.
Soil reports are required on all homes.  All foundations are designed and seal stamped by a Registered Structural Engineer.
Smooth shelving rather than rough wood or rough particle board.
Factory built garage door beam.
Use wide base moldings and door casings.
Jetted tub in master bath. (Optional)
